Default Audi S1 1986 MonteCarlo by TheTireTeam

This is the RT version of the 1986 Audi S1 as rallyed to third position in the 1986 Monte Carlo rally by Hannu Mikkola and Arne Hertz.
It is still in developement and has some textures missing for the interior...
Also it is set up for the lates developement of the TT realmod files and we are not sure how it works on teh original physics-so best is that you drive it on the TT realmod settings as they are a lot more realistic anyway.

As it seems that No-grip will go down soon, me and Ralph decided to release what we have prepared of the S1.
Some stuff is still missing and all is not quite optimal, but it looks Ok and the physics are more or less finnished.
Made for the newest TT realmod-so use it for correct driving experiance.
I would like to again thank Loungekid for the sounds

All the info is in the readme-so check it out

Have FUN

Cheers PG

Just wanted to add, that the S1 still is in a state of developement and not quite finished. We decided to publish it in the state as it is only out of one reason: the reasonable shut down of no grip. See it as a our tribute to this great community and something like a last goodby, so far we can't keep NoGrip alive. So we hope, you don't mind about some mistakes or missing parts. Of course we will update it, as far the momentary bad situation can be solved.

Have fun and greetings to all,
Ralph.B (member of TheTireTeam)

I cant thank You enough for this fantastic car, the most trilling and awaited driving experience I’ve had with Rally Trophy.

I’ve seen, heard and smelled this car raced on the Sintra stages in the fatidic 1986 Portugal Rally and since the appearance of Rally Trophy that I was wishing that somebody would do a good recreation of it.

What You have done its more than that, its an excellent recreation of it, God Bless You!

If You would consider the development of the formidable Metro 6R4 and Delta S4, I believe we all would have to put You in a Pedestal.

Keep up the excellent work.

Thank You so Much.

Thanks, guys, that you like this car even it is unfinnished and in some parts buggy!

As it seems, NoGrip is saved for the next time and we will try to finish and update it as soon as possible. But be patient for a while - first we have to concentrate on our new moderator-job and learn, how to do it as well as Fred, Ken, Ollo and John did it so far.

Greetings,

Thanks for your nice comments guys.

The audi still needs to be completed conserning the textures and a few other details and we hope that we will be able to update it soon

Of the group B cars it looks good as a 205 is in the making and the S4... also seem quite possible in the future.
We hope that we will be helping with the physics for all those cars as well so that they will be all set up that way that they will feel right and be on the right competative speed compared to the S1.

So we hope that once a compleate 85/86 season will be possible

Cheers TheTireTeam

Interior - nearly perfect???? Did I miss something about our own creation? Think, you mean it from outsideview - if you drive in cockpitview it is horrible. Instruments still missing, the holes where we want to place them, are completely out of place, no details at all.
But we are working on it and hope, to release a updated version soon.

Do me a favour? Enter the weekly competition this week in the 037 - it's lonely at the back right now

Seiously, though - you HAVE to use the power to stabilise the car - you will be surprised how the power can get you out of trouble instead of making it worse.

Hmmm, use the power you say?
I'm not sure, but will give it a try. I just think all RWDs in the game suck!
(except Cortina)

It' ll be a while before I join any competitions. You're all way out of my league.

Look who's talking
Kaps are :slap: You normal :sherlock:
i suppose you are driving AWD for a longer time so you don't have a feeling for RWD-you need to start right away -it will be hard but you will feel better after half a year of practice when you can drive

and let's stop spaming this thread

6 months of RWD driving you say!?! Naaah, don't think so!

I better stick with FWD or AWD,or whatever...

I have been researching some more and found out that the number on the car is wrong. The #2 was the car from Walter Rohrl and not Mikkola. Mikkola was driving the #6 car for that event. THe problem was that wwe have two high quality huge pictures with the #2 on the dorr and Mikkola/Hertz as the driving pair and the event stated is hte Monte Carlo(pictures are from a museum).
We will fix our error with the finnal version of the car

A good way to get this car moving really fast is to stay on the brakes! Using a rear brake balance and keeping the left foot on the brake when you apply throttle and turn into the corner the car will actually oversteer. Then it's only a matter of correcting the slide with the steering, throttle and brakes. Some times you will go faster if not releasing the brakes completly untill you have exit the turn.

A slight flick going into corners also help a lot

But, in really long corners it's allmost impossible to keep the slide controlled and the car will understeer in the exit...

Yea I use that skandinavian flick when I drive a lot, but most funny is to drive RWD and control the oversteer in accelerating

I got tired of RBR so I went back to RT, hoping to find some nice cars to drive with. And I have to say, this S1 is absolutely magnificent!! I love cars that you have to fight with . I like how you made it very realistic, not that I have driven the S1 but from what I have heard it was not an easy job.

I hope you guys can complete an S4 one day..

Thanks

Default S1 carbook and steering wheel

I changed the carbook and the steering wheel of the quattro S1, that both still
showed the Lancia logo. Maybe this could be added to the S1 package.
Can I upload it somewhere?
I looked for an explanation of the car physics, e.g. the car parameters that
can be exported and imported and the underlying model equations, but I
didn't find anything. Does anyone have a description?
Have fun, Hajoe
