Hahaha. Yep, this is what I got for the first 2 hours. You would start the game then wait for a the intro video which can't be stopped. Then select your language (you have to do this EVERY time you start the game) then select you profile, then a dialog box comes up saying that the profile has been loaded. You hit ok and then it says loading profile for about 15secs. Then you go into the options and change some graphics options in hopes of fixing the black screen. Then you try to start your career which bring you to yet another intro video that can't be stopped which lasts another 40secs. Then you come to a loading screen that lasts another 60secs, then another intro video for 20secs and then you get control of the car but the screen becomes black. All you can see is the HUD. And to top it off you can't exit that first race so the only way out is to alt-tab and kill it with taskman. So then you go through the whole process all over again trying some more changes in the graphics options. You can't simply make changes back to back until you find the right combination of graphic settings that work. You are forced to go through the hole advertising campaign each time just to find out it still isn't working. I think the final fix was to turn on 2xAA. I made so many changes I can't remember what change fixed it. So by the time I could actually drive that car it was 2AM. Oh yeah and once I finally found a combination of settings that didn't give me the black screen I found out I didn't have my controls mapped correctly. So then you think, no problem, just hit escape and then change them in the options screen. Nope, the controls can't be changed from a race. Oh, ok I will exit the race back to the main menu. Nope, can't do that in the first race. alt-tab again. So I get it all setup just to find out that the physics are made for 12 year olds on keyboards. What a waste of time.

Probably too late to save the thread from stupidity but I'll try...

I did have to run the game 13 times though to finally get in a race without the game having an "AppHangB1" (Or, endless hang in which Windows knows is hopeless)...and by that time, I realized that my 3rd mapping of controls weren't saved. And I'm on the demo. |

When will SimBin finally use their new engine for a pc game... I'm so tired of seeing that old 2002 graphic engine for new pc titles like RaceOn and maybe RTR, too. Sorry, I'm bored and hate buying "addons", "addons" and "addons"... for years ...

This is what I'm attacking Nordschleife with atm. My current best is 7:30 but I'm still learning the track so there's plenty of room for improvement.
