Well i think it would be between Doornbos and Hamilton. Hamilton had the luck he drove in the best car on the grid. Of course he's very talented, but car determines 80% of what you'll do in F1. next year it'll be different as TC isn't allowed anymore.
Doornbos has a very strong first season in CCWS, where the cars are equal, and the only difference is, some teams are a little bit better than others when it comes to strategy, and maybe a bit money.

Montoya didn't have such a great season..
Vettel didn't drive a complete season, though he's very talented. If RBR can make a good car next year, Vettel will be one of the best i think.
Sutil, also had bad luck in F1, though he's very good.
Senna and Nakajima's results aren't that good I think. Okay. for a rookie, but they're not exceptional, like Hamilton and Doornbos.

Di resta had a great season in an old car I think. But open wheel isn't comparable with DTM. Look at Albers for example.

I vote for Robert Doornbos (Champcar).

He is argubly the most talented driver Holland has at this moment.
Further he has been so wise to escape the Dutch racing scene and go international/abroad.
The Dutch racing scene is ruled by the Bleekemolen clan, the Coronel brothers, the Huisman brothers, Phil Bastiaans, Donald Molenaar and Alard Kalff and such who seize possession of any class for so many, many years, so that no real talent gets a way through.
Those who go abroad are the most lucky.

Paul Di Resta for me

He was great in the 2 year old Mercedes and will be up there fighting with Schneider and Ekstrom for the DTM title next year

Doornbos wasn't that good in CCWS IMO, but every talent there is overshadowed by Bourdais and his dominance

Lewis Hamilton gets my vote, but only if by rookie you mean the driver who has driven the most erratically and dangerously. Some of his first corner moves have been questionable to say the least. if it had been schumacher driving he would have been criticised for sure, but as its golden boy hamilton "that was a great move! what a guy!" not to mention the acident he caused in japan.

my real vote goes to Anthony Davidson who, while not on the list, has put in some great qualy and race drives that have allowed super aguri to punch above thier weight several times. i hope he will go to a better team next year as he no doubt deserves it.:roflmao:

To be honest I was cheering for Fernando but how can you not vote for Hamilton. Missed the F1 Championship by 1 point in his rookie season!!! How could there even be a second thought.

actually he missed it by TWO points as Kimi had a superior win amount, thus a tie on points would still have meant the title for Kimi.

Lewis Hamilton gets my vote, he missed the title by one point, he showed many more experienced drivers how it should be done, and some of his moves were outstanding. He didn't cause the accident in Japan, even Mark Webber said it was the idiot behind him who caused it.

It has to be Lewis Hamilton... he's gone from a very insignificant name, only known in the motor-racing community, to a household name known by 58 million British people. To come third in the World Driver's Championship is one hell of an achievement, more so on his first season in Formula 1. I'm no Formula 1 fan, and I'm sorry that I had to vote for Hamilton, but I think he has been far and away the rookie of the year this year.

Juan Pablo Montoya because he was the only one in this list to make a real drastic change of series. From GP2 to Formula One is evolution, from single-seaters to NASCAR is a challenge :cool:
