Welcome to my first ever track for rFactor - the High Speed Ring.
Now updated to Version 1.5 Based on the track from the Playstation2 Game - Gran Turismo 4. This started out as a learning project & I wasn't intending to release it but that has since changed & here it is. It isn't an exact replica but I did my best try & capture the feel of the GT4 game within reasonable time constraints. I have to send out a huge thankyou to Brendon Pywell (Piddy) for his excellent Bob's Track Builder program. Thanks also to - "Krunch" for the Skybox. - "Chub Pearson" for the "Old UK advertising" xpack. - "jay_p_666" for the "Great Britain" xpack. - "Madcowie" for some good advice. - Everyone at the BTB forums for lots of help, advice & encouragement along the way. - ISI for rFactor - Sony for the Playstation & especially - Polyphony for the Gran Turismo Series ------------------------------------------------- V1.50 INSTALLATION note! Please delete any previous versions of the HighSpeedRing from your rFactorGameDataLocations folder ------------------------------------------------- New in Version 1.50 - Added Reverse layout - Added lights in pit area, grandstands & trackside - Updated Track textures & some others - Fixed Dodgy AI on pit exit - Fixed a few other little bugs ------------------------------------------------- Thanks for trying out my track. Cheers |

GTR2 conversion is very possible
I've never done a GTR2 track before so I will need some time to sort out some of the differences with RF. Cheers |

This is a superbly crafted track, the modeling, textures and lighting are spot on, many thanks indeed. I have only very occassionally tried a "Fantasy" track but this is brilliant. I've seen peeps race it on the PS3, but I've never tried Grand Tourismo - having been brought up on GPL, SCGT and Geoff Crammond's early F1 sims. Terrific work, thanks again.

@ ennisfargis: Great job! Its origins may have been arcade, but its execution is totally professional. The "production values" (i.e., details) are very finely wrought, completely plausible. I'm not sure what I'd wanna race here (the first car I tried, the Formula BMW, just droned around, almost flat-out, at 1:12 & change). Maybe stock cars (altho I just deleted the last of my tin tops) or Land Speed Record cars, LOL. Anyway, good work! Immersive and addictive.

Just a quick update on the GTR2 version.
I have it running quite well & am mostly happy with it. I still want to tweak the AI a bit to try to make them a bit faster & a bit less stupid. Any volunteers for testing? If so please email me at "ennisfargis at gmail dot com" Cheers |
