I was just curious, and this could be the "duh" question of the day, but can we find the actual racing set ups of various cars for real tracks?
My thoughts are....no way, itd sure be nice to see how the pros set theirs up! |

I've then tried to make a time attack with the 98 GT1 and made a 3:46 (I think I can gain 3 seconds just by making a second lap, the first lap is slower even if lauched with hot tires), maybe one or 2 seconds with 2 or 3 laps of practice, things get closer to the real lap times! |

Would anyone happen to know how to fix disk glow only showing on LF wheel? Is it something I can edit within the .cas file?
Thanks for any help |

I've posted the sound work here on nogrip but my file was deleted because of violation of site rules. Well, I don't understand, I only post the aud file which refers to some GTL sounds but I didn't include them in the archive (so you need to have GTL to use it). I've sent a message to one of the nogrip admins, I'll let U know of any news...

Just a thought, but the RW Alzen Porsches were the closest thing to a homebrew GT1 (roof scoop and all). They had more-or-less the same engine (ScarfaceHood will correct me if I'm wrong) and the sounds (e.g. the wheezing of the pop-off valve) should be appropriate. Maybe such an animal exists somewhere....

Once i deleted all the addon cars using the extra wheels the game run fine.

In P911 GT1 mod I have problem with CTD also, probably caused by the add on wheels?
I have installed EXTRA wheels files, but no NEW wheels. I did not find them. When lines written at the beginning of the *.car files refer to extra wheels *.hdc and *.cas files - all add on cars apear in the showroom and also run in single car practice, so everything works fine. But with more cars in practice and in the race I experience CTD.

When you have finished finding all the skins that dont work properly, look in the .car file of any of the ones that dont work, open up the "New Wheels, Extra wheels" files you dl'd, witchever you want, make sure to extract the wheel files into the team folder of the skin you are working on. In the files with the new wheels is a read me that will tell exactly what to do, open it directly next to your " ctd skin" .car file and copy and past the .hdc and .cas info over to the ctd skin and in the genstring dont forget to put the number of the wheel you want. Finally, go to the "class" line at the bottom of the .car file from an original car in the mod and copy that line and paste it in the ctd skin. Save it, and now you have a working skin. Do this for all ctd skins in porsche mod and they will all work like clock work. If you still get ctd's its not the mod bud, I havnt had any problems at all with the porsches. Great mod!!! I finally got my settings dialed in, and they are nasty!!! Last edited by Schooz; 6 April 10 at 17:29. |

Well the Porsche 956 tyres are meant to simulate the ground effect of the C cars, they dont work with LMP/GT cars.

@Schooz: I like the 935 sounds very much, but you gotta respect ScarfaceHood: he really knows his Porsche technical history (engines, turbos, exhausts, tires, specs, etc.). I also like the Dunlop C1s much more than the stock GT1 Michelins (which seem very dodgy in the tricky transition from grip to no grip...to coin a phrase), but Andy is right, the peak of the C1's slip curve is unrealistically high. Then the only way to get the lap times under control is to substitute a less powerful engine...but then the top speed drops from an authentic 203-205 mph to less than 190 and what you've got is a fantasy car. At least the sound change doesn't alter the performance. Naja, I think the best thing is to wait for an upgrade from Aleksss.

Thanks toonces, I appriciate the feedback, and by no means was I thinking in dissrespect to scarfacehood or aleksss for their knowledge and skills....I really do appriciate the authenticity of every detail of this fine mod.....Im just a stickler for sound and Imo it really makes the experience of the sim completely come to life! I actually am anticipating any updates that are in the making.

After some (few) laps at LeMans (Revived version), I noticed something unusual in temperature wear on rear tires, very high if compared to front tires...
anyone has ideas on this? |
