Also...
Jimmy Carr, George Carlin, Mitch Hedburg Agree with your choices of Izzard and Hicks. The rest I've either not heard or don't get me laughing too much. |

Pablo Francisco. Some great stuff in his first Comedy Central Presents.
Everyone's already mentioned most of my favorites. Carlin, Pryor, Hedberg... Gotta mention Stephen Lynch. He basically just does the most screwed up songs ever. If you have the ability to find humor in any jacked up situation I highly recommend you check him out. |

Redd Fox... oh god, I forgot how damn funny he was. Never liked Sanford and Son, but my grandfather gave me a copy of one of his albums many years ago. "Wake up, dammit, and sing!" I think that tape actually broke I played it so much.

Really? He had a couple of funny moments on Mock the Week but his solo shows are extremely boring and juvenile.
Mock the Week is rubbish now Frankie Boyle has been sacked anyway. That's more like it. Can't believe no one has mentioned Steve Hughes though, he is my favourite "current" comedian. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAGJpISVERg |
