stand up or comedy show, i love both, but have a preference for a good stand up.

ie

eddie izzard
rhod gilbert
bill bailey
richard pryor

yip, hes done live at the apollo, v.funny indeed. there seems to be a lot of new stand-ups which is great, james manford, rhod gilbert, and john bishop some of the best of the newest ones ...imho...

Eddie Izzard has to be my all time Favourite from "Live at the Ambassadors" to "Stripped" , they are all excellent shows, a true comedy genius imho.

bill hicks is a close 2nd tho..

Everyone's already mentioned most of my favorites. Carlin, Pryor, Hedberg...

Gotta mention Stephen Lynch. He basically just does the most screwed up songs ever. If you have the ability to find humor in any jacked up situation I highly recommend you check him out.
