FIA Formula 2 (2009 Season) Mod By DoMw94, Dan253, Murphy0207 and Carham

Here it is! Nearly 1 year of work and it's finnaly finnished. The 2009 F2 mod based on the Formula BMW car. Before anyone criticises, we are all new to modding and we just wanted to give something back to the community that gave so much to us.


WARNING THE README CONTAINED IN THE ZIP IS COPIED FROM THE BETA AS IT IS EXACTLY THE SAME. THIS MOD IS NOT A BETA!

Due to the awkwardness of the FBMW car, most of the skins have to be custom skins.

Any issues, Please do not hesitate to PM me or any of the other creators.

DO NOT UPLOAD THIS to ANY OTHER SITE WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION FIRST PLEASE!!! There shouldn't really be a problem but if you want this on your site, YOU MUST contact one of the creators first!

UPDATE 1 - Hopefully cured steering issue. However, not fully tested on our F2 car but the data has been tested on another car in the past so it should be safe.

Great mod However, there is a problem which I mentioned on the F2 Mod thread. Is anyone else having the same problem? Anyways, thank you to all the creators for this mod

hmm odd issue i sugest changing steering lock settings. ill look into it as i think i know the issue and ill release a fix if necessary.

It's not F2 is FBMW.....

The mod uses the FBMW model as they could not make/find a proper F2 model. It still has F2 physics and teams. The FBMW's body is also quite similar to the F2's body so it's close to the real thing.

Guys, you respect for work, but this mod will not be popular.Sorry me for direct words.
Similar mod already is, F3000/A1GP, mod who remembers this?
Formula Masters is very similar to F2

I dont think you understand how much work has been put into this mod, ok we havent used a new body ect, but atleast use it as there is no other solution for gtr evo, give us a break and enjoy and respect the work done. like he said 1 year in the making!

oh and @ boot, well i know it isnt just me but i loved the a1 gp mod and the superleague one too. people put alot of time and efort into these things and we never expect anything in return. I spent 10 months putting aside alot of time for this mod, if you dont like it then fine but im sure lots of people will. we already have great support.

with all the testing done, weve never had a flying car, however, that steering was untried at first then when i tested it, it wasnt at low speed, i only had issues with slow cornering later on(and donuts). but the update should be just fine.

EDIT: come to think of it, i had a roll i na race but i don't know if that was releated to another car.

the car didnt turn as well as it should do. the new update addresses this issue. the mod is now ready and complete. possibly howver, in the future, we may update it to include the test car and add a few updates to the surtees skin (i did it so it isn't as good as the others )

P.S-In the readme, why does it say FIA Formula 2 BETA V 1.0? If it's past 1.0 it's past the beta stage, I think

no sorry i uploaded it in the wrong place its for gtr evo. there IS a gdb in this and there is only 1 car because all the rest are custom skins because the car we used is very hard to work with. all the 2009 cars are included

the gtlegends upload is a mistake and in the readme, i just copied and pasted the readme from the private beta i will rectify this in any upcoming updates

in the zip, there is a custom skins folder, copy that into your gtr evo directory and when asked to merge the folders, click yes

Will this mod work for Race07?

Yes, all mods for GTR Evolution will work with Race 07 as long as it does not use any Evo content to run. For example, this mod will work on Race 07, but a tuned Koenigsegg mod will not work as it needs the GTR Evo Koenigsegg CCX production car.

i understand the question of spectorbass,cos the mod is released in the race on section so a part of the game using exclusive cars. Race07 was maybe a better place to release it?

Not downloaded yet but i allready thank you for the work,working on the belgian gt mod i know how much work is it to make a hall championship as real as possible

It could have been released in Race 07, but it could have been in either that or Race On or even GTR Evolution. The section (in this particular issue) is not important, as long as it not in a completely different section, like GTR2.

wow i ve tried on monza,cos i know that there i turn in 1 58 with fbmw.
i ve done 1 57 Many many understeering,rear tyres going to more than 150°(!!),and problem with sounds when on neutral. I ve allready seen that this problem comes when u use three different sounds for the three phases(power,coast and clutch or no gear) I observed that to resolve this problem,clutch sound has to be the same as coast sound.
I ve not seen in the tyre files what is the optimal temp for the tyres but,could be round 90 up 105. but going up to more than 140 in straight line without spinning or drifting is not normal.
Those problem need to be fixed,if i see other problems it will be noticed here too

Hoping it s helping,this mod is on the good way.

PS:engine sound is a bit low,if it does not make the sound going bad(dont know the good english word) u can regulate the volume sound for each phase by just adding " :v=*.*"
replace * by a number, 1.0 is 100% 1.5 150% and so on

Thank you for a great mod, only problem I'm having is with the championship I'm always missing a file "F2 Williams JPH01"? and can't continue. Skins are installed and show up. Also the car tires don't touch the track?

This mod won't load all the Formula 2 cars that are listed. I also had only the Surtees car showing after both the extract and the cut and paste methods. I added all the downloaded files to the corresponding files in Race 07; Custom Skin in download to Custom Skin in Race 07, etc. I've downloaded a lot of add-ons that work well (as compared to this one). I tried switching around the files, taking out the drivers from the Custom skins and adding them to the Game Data Teams and still nothing showed. It appears to me that only the 000007 is set up correctly with all the necessary files. That car was interesting due to tendency to spin out. I ended up getting the Race-on with the Formula Masters from Steam which are fun cars with a good mix of handling and speed for the Novice (yours truly) and affordable .

I'll be honest with you, although such problems never occured during testing, we never tested it on Steam. Also, I'm sorry to say that this mod was worked on 2 years ago and since then, certain circumstances have diverted my attention elsewhere. As a result, I can't really remember that particulars of this mod. No further development will be carried out and no support will/can be given. Sorry about that.

Thank you for downloading and trying it out though, I genuinley appreciate it! Although the project is long dead, a lot of work went into it and it's great to see that even now people still want to give it a go.

Thanks for the answer Dom. Maybe it has something to do with the Steam version like you say. It appears to be that the Custom skins aren't recognized by the arrangement of the files, all the content is ignored, but I'm not a programmer, just an operator. --Keith

No worries

Since I switched to Steam about a year ago, I've had nothing but problems with custom skins. No matter where I put them, no cutom skins for any car in any series worked I've recently reinstalled and have yet to try it again so far.
