with a 900+º wheel, I experimented (in-game) with steering locks up between 18 and 22º. It didn't feel right. So I decreased that a few points, and it worked. Lately, I'm using a Logitech Formula Force Ex, with 180º. Steering lock is currently set at 7 to 8º, which gives me total control (problem, though, is in tight corners, but then...I adapt easily). I have sensitivity no higher than 45% with a 2% dead zone to counteract the "instability" of my wheel at the center. At RSC someone (can't remember who, and this quote is all I have on this matter) VERY WELL: "my G25 feels pretty good. Its my understanding that most GTR cars have a steering "ratio" of somewhere between 15:1 to 18:1. I find 15:1 to suit my needs. To dial in this ratio in game the following calculation is used. ( A/2 )/B=C A=steering wheel rotation you set in Logi Profiler B=steering lock in-game you choose in the garage C= steering ratio For example in GTR2 the max steering lock = 23deg (690/2) /23 = 15 <---your steering ratio is 15:1"" Hope this helps. i had formula force ex too. i had steering lock in beginning of my GTR2 on around 11-14 and i had always so much tyre out in front. later i did change to 7-7.5 and in races where tyre are much out in end of a stint i did often drive with 6 steering lock. my sensitive? was 53% and 2% deas zone and SSPS (under clutch sensitive) i had 0-5%. with new wheel i have 270° now (135°) each side and this is totaly enough for raceing (no idea why 900° is needed????) and i have 8-9.5 steering lock and only 48% sensitive and i need more SSPS 10-15% it tooks long time to get used with new wheel. i think the most important thing why any drivers are not constant in laptimes or to slow is the wheel is not correct justaged. it is totaly useless to download a online setup with often steering lock 21-23 is and you only have 180° wheel for example, no drive possible then. i spend for sure 10 hours or more to have a 100% optimal wheel setup with new wheel. and i use NO FFB with 70% center spring strong or i use only FFB in middle and 35-40% strong. i am still a little slower in new wheel as i was in formula force ex, after now 2 weeks. so everybody with is new in justage wheel, important thing is spend many time for have a perfect wheel that you must not thinking how to move wheel, it must do it from alone, in spa, the eau rouge corner is good corner to see if you have good wheel setup. servus |

several of the Le Mans protos like Lola and Ginetta Zytek use a steering wheel box that has 1.1 turns. That works out to a G-25 setting of something like 396 degrees and they use 13 to 15 degrees of steering lock for most races. 13 to qualify and 15 for the race.

yes, when I had a better wheel, I used to drive with locks under 15º. It doesn't make sense to drive with higher values. With this wheel (Formula Force Ex) I am 'perfectly in control (actually it feels exactly like driving Grand Tourer in real life). I often choose 6º, but then some tracks have tighter corners than others, and that presents a small problem (example: 1st corner of Nurburgring or the 7th corner Yas Marina). Normally, it's set to 7 or 8º. Slowness? ![]() Every time I change wheels, I have to take a couple of days "off" to adapt. Chronus |
