Default 1969 mod is released

CAUTION!!!!
To play 1969 mod you must have 1966 mod previously installed!
Link for 1966 season is here http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6C2ZI3F8

Then unpack 1969 folders into you F1 CHallenge directory with confirmation of overwriting files.

The 1969 mod includes physics update for the 1966 mod.

New version of Monaco and Mosport will come with the next release.

Order of installation:
1) 1966 mod
2) 1969 mod
3) 1967 mod

***

--\\\-MAIN NOTE-\\\--

"The Sixties" project is a free addon for F1 Challenge that is considered to contain race-by-race modifications of Formula-1 cars of 1960-1969 periond.
Apologize me for possible cases of misplaced or wrong logotypes.
Some tracks have wrong AI waypoints, it must be a temporary problem, I hope it would be fixed with help of community.

--\\\-HOW TO INSTALL-\\\--

1) Unpack the files into your F1 Challenge directory
2) Run 1960S3DConfig.exe
3) Run 1960S.exe
4) Enjoy

--\\\-INSTRUCTION-\\\--

*PHYSICS

In case you use keyboard you better have aids settings as they are providing with this mod. The optimal amount of digital steering rate is 22% +\-1% to use with steering assistance disabled. I foresee some negative talkes about technical parameters of these cars comparing with GPL so I have to say we have got some terrible things copying these parameters as they are in GPL. So sorry about wrong technical data of suspensions.

*ADDING NEW TRACK

This instruction tells about adding new tracks for this mod. For example we have 2009 Sepang to add. As usual add this track in Circuits folder, write filters you need and so on and then open gdb file of Sepang, look for

SettingsAI = 2009 Malaysia.svm

line and replace this line to

SettingsAI = 1966_Zandt_f1.svm

then save and enjoy this track with The Sixties.
This is an AI setup to guarantee their good behaviour.

Just leave a folder on there. :p

GPL and it take no room compared to the rest.

There are tracks bigger then a F1C default install. lmao

I (or SamAlex ) know that rF would be a little better choice than F1C, but making the mods was started about 3 years ago when F1C was enough popular, this way now these mods are considered just to support F1 Challenge. Maybe, sometime and somehow someone would converse these mods. Anyway it must take not so much time as making these mods.

An incredible amount of work has gone into this conversion by a tiny team. The conversion process from GPL isn't easy and SamAlex has solved all the problems which came up. The result is the models really do justice to the originals - well done! Ideally I would change the physics but creating all the physics for these cars was a huge job and wasn't something I had time to help with. Considering the lack of help again I think the team has done a good job. Including tracks in the mod is something often overlooked - again my congratulations.

It would be a shame if the 65 cars never appear.

David, dont worry. Im finishing the work on the 1965 mod right know.
As for the physics, I know that it doesnt match as well, but it seems to me it is impossible to do something better. As the matter of fact, we can do anything for physics to improve it but this way huge problems on AI behaviour are possible.

Hi, have downloaded all four parts but they appear to be about half the quoted size at 45Mb for parts 1 to 3, 24Mb for part 4. They extract but a couple of files are reported as broken and half the teams are missing (empty folders).

The two 1967 files were also saved at about 45Mb on download.

I think must be something wrong with your download Brian.

Sounds like you are redoing a cached file from documents folder maybe. ?

It would explain why you got last file okay.

Try downloading part 1 again But this time put it in another location EG: D:\Temp and see what happens.

If you get full size do same for parts 2.3 Then add part4 to the folder
and extract Part1

After it extracts make a new single archive or iso image 1967.

I archived 66-69 one winrar (900mb) and a iso image ( just in case ) :p
