Porsche 944 Turbo for GTL

Thanks to wildman_fr for letting me convert it from GTR2.

Only one skin, templates are available with download
No biks.

This project its been here on my desktop for a while and i dont have time to finish it, so it goes for release.


Hope u have fun.

Installation: Install at gamedata, no need for sound file since the sounds are from rsr

Nice car, ugly 80's plastic cockpit (no complaint to you but the designers back then ) A little bit too young for the 76's cars, but way too good work to not keep it

I cant seem to get this to work for some reason,GTL crashes to desktop just as the track loads when I've selected the 944 (standard tracks and add ons).

Any ideas guys?

Stex.GTR and Talent.GTR files in main gamedata folder?

The stexGTR.gtl file and TalentGTR.gtl appear to be in the 'teams' folder (as well as talent.gtl and stex.gtl too) not in Gamedata though.

I havent got a clue how this stuff works

This is the bit = tells me Talent.GTR is missing, copy & paste it from your GTR2 install (or disk) to the teams folder in GTL. Also copy the Stex.GTR file.

I don't see those files anywhere,unless I'm being a dummy which is very possible

Also when I purchased the car it was 1 million credits,dont know if that's intentional or not.

Very nice,love the plastic 80s dash too

Just a small thing I noticed is it's virtually impossible to see your rear view mirror without pushing the seat so far back that you end up in the backseat.

Other than that it's great...cheers ,going for another spin now.

Thanks for responding. Glad you liked my drug humor but there must be another issue that I'm missing. I aready had the stex and talent .gtr files. I replaced them anyway with the ones at mediafire but there was no change in my luck. I installed a new driver with all the cheats so I have 100,000,000 credits but your car is still locked when I try to select a team. I can view the car but not buy it. Maybe it doesn't like a cheat.

open car file and change the credits right at the bottom of the car file
dont know if you can drive online (as i dont race online )

GLENNYBOY1, yes, the stex and talent files are in the TEAM folder. I have two of each, one set of .gtl and a set of .gtr. Is that correct? I've been running GTL with both sets for some but this Porsche 944 is locked. I thought it ws because I'm short on credits but that doesn't seem to be the problem.

thijs37, the car file doesn't have a credit line. We are talking about the 01_GT_Porsche.car file, right? That's the one i'm trying to unlock and buy.

But the car was never locked and even if i edit this string line it does not have any effect on the car value.

GTR2man i looked and indeed there,s no value/credit line in the car file sorry folks for the initial comment.

even more annoying is that when i try to testdrive the car game crashes
i think i will delete the mod

Why not? the first 944 its 28 years old.
For FIA the classification of classic starts at age 30, almost there.
2 years ago 25 was enough to be a classic.
Anyway, call it youngtimer, it is a legendary sports car, at least for some of us.
As time move along we need to start bringing the 80's cars to GTL

Re: posts 28, 33 and 36 - on a whim, I moved the Porsche 944 Folder from GTC-TC-76 to the ExtraCars folder and was able to buy it. Going for a spin now. I be happy!!! Thanks maynd.
