Default Steam Release?

Since it seems like they read these forums and virtualr more than their official ones, I'd like to make sure some interest is shown for a steam release. They eventually put Shift on it after a month or so, and Hot Pursuit was available close to release; I hope Shift 2 makes it there close to release as well! The new videos are looking better and better.

I would personally prefer it on Steam but i think i read somewhere it won't be available on Steam come release day, but will appear eventually. Shame really considering Crysis 2 etc are there now for pre-order.

Will that mean all steam users will mis out on the 40 extra events and 3 extra cars as these are only for preorder of the limited edition going by the QandA on saturday.
Cant say that i saw any other version than the Limited version last time round.

looking at that site it says
Shift 2 Unleashed Limited Edition contains:
"Immediate access to three exclusive cars ready to roar off the line: the Nissan Silvia spec.R Aero (S15), the Alfa Romeo Giulietta QV, and the Lamborghini Murciélago LP640."

which would mean that everyone can access them in game just a bit later if you dont get the limited edition, doesn't mention anything about the 40 extra events for preordering or is that only an EA store thing.

I wonder are all those 40 events in game anyway, maybe just unlocked quicker with a code.

hehe same thing here - if they are i it, just at a later stage of the career I will wait for it without preordering.

Maybe someone can ask about it on EA forum.

It's only £4 more so makes sense just to order the LE for me.

You might post back as tell anyone who hasnt preordered whether the content is activated by a code included in the box or not.
The funny thing is is that limited and ordinary have the same RRP, and it should have only cost you £3 more

http://shop.gameplay.co.uk/webstore/...rm=ALL&x=0&y=0

And the bonus cars are listed as part of the content on the shift site, no reference they only come with the limited edition.

I've already pre ordered this from the ea online store, but would have pre ordered on steam given the chance. If it's anything like hot pursuit they'll release it eventually on steam.

I'm not sure why ea has the majority of it's major releases available for pre order on steam but none of the need for speed series, not that I like the association with nfs for shift.

Will probably buy it on steam when it is eventually released just for the sake of having everything on there.

Although I'm eager to try Shift2, I'm forcing myself to wait for the release on Steam.

Why? Because it looks like it will turn out to be a fun game to use for LAN racing. Not too hard core so my friends who aren't sim fanatics can still jump in and have fun. Racing online is fine, but having a few of us in the same room so we can exchange good-natured trash talk is even more enjoyable.

Anyway, to use it for LAN gaming, the most convienent thing for me is to buy a copy for each computer once it appears in one of Steam's great sales. And I want to make absolutely sure that they're all completely compatible. Mixing one store-bought copy with others from Steam might lead to version incompatibility. Don't want to risk it.

As a bonus, I don't have to keep track of multiple DVDs and boxes and codes, just multiple Steam accounts that I use for this purpose already.

TL;DR -- Please release on Steam ASAP!
