Unhappy Why I am a better driver in 07 compared to GTR2?

I dont get it.
It doesnt matter what kind of a car I drive in Race07, I just drive much better than I drive in GTR2.
In GTR2 I am an average driver. In Race07 however I am very good.

What gives

gtr2 requires 10x the precision to get a good time than race07

I should admit that cars in Race07 are more forgiving.
I think I am a very good driver in Race07 because of GTR2.
If I can drift and not lose the 575 on a corner because I came in too fast, that means the BMW in Race07 should be a piece of cake, which it is.

I am a hardcore to the bone GTR2 player but because of GTR2, Race07 is a hell of a fun to play

I think Race 07 leans more to Arcade while GTR2 is more Simulation.

Can you explain how you know you are a very good driver in RACE 07 and an average driver in GTR2? What are you comparing yourself to? The AI? Other on-line racers? World record laps? Also do you make your own setups or use the defaults?

The cars in RACE 07 tend to be lower powered than the cars in GTR2 - the WTCC cars have the same weight as a GT car but less than half the power, so they tend to be easier to drive even though they have less downforce and grip. For fans of GTL its a bit like comparing the Alfa GTA with the AC Cobra - its not about being arcade vs realistic, its just lower powered cars tend to be easier to drive.

having converted cars from Race07 to GTR2 I find the 07's are MUCH forgiving. I suggest trying your hand at the SR3 conversion on the same tracks...

Race07 is not arcade. It might feel arcade if you don't set your car properly. The F3000 has so much downforce, that it will rarely spin.. I thought that was arcade, until I started playing with the setups.
But the cars are forgiving, maybe the tyres have a bigger slipangle or something..

Weirdly I'm miles better in GTR2 then in 07. But then again, I've on'y been playing 07 for 3 weeks now, and not so much because of the sunshine.

And I don't think it's arcadish, but more on the same level as GTR2. The cars are very different between games.

I think we can start comparing realism when we get the GTR Evo expansion (< yes I'm a absolute GTR Evo-fanboy already ).

Yes they are more forgiving in 07, but who says they aren't like that in real life.
Yes, I know you used a real Radical race driver with the developing of the handling, and don't get me wrong here, it's a brilliant mod and I'm very happy you guys made it, but I think that somewhere in between your mod and the Race 07 Radical we will find the 'real' Radical.

I wasn't impressed with Race07, looks very pretty but just lacked substance IMO. I really don't like the feel of the game, it feels very arcadey and lacking in something.
