it looks pretty good. i would suggest some better replay camera angles. they kinda remind me of the ones in f1 2010. besides that, add some shadows to the trees that surround the track and I think you have a winner. im going home to try the 1988 f1 cars .i will let you guys know what kinda lap times we produce. laterz

The track looks great! The only suggestion I'd make is to work on the grass. Seems as if it works like pavement, lots of grip and easy to drive on. That or maybe I have a wacky file. Other than that you did very well

Thanks for your hints. I'm actually happy with most of the TV cam positions. But there are a few, e.g. at start finish line, that could be even better. So maybe i'm going to rework some camera angles in future versions of the track.

Ok thanks. Just took this grass texture from an Xpack, i will see wether i can modify it a bit.

Well, i don't really know. The project file is about 350Mb. Actually thought the final track would be a smaller filesize.

Thanks for the german comments and sorry to those, who can not understand what we are talking about.
What we discussing here is that you need to use a rolling start. Otherwhise you get black flagged or you get a stop-and-go penalty. So again, rolling start is recommended.

Danke danke.
Das Ampelproblem ist ja nun schon hier thematisiert worden. Derzeit funktioniert nur der fliegende Start. ("Starting grid positions aren't accurate so far, so i think a rolling start ist recommended.")
Das muss ich aber auf jeden Fall noch fixen.

Kein Problem. Hätte ja auch sein können, dass das Problem in der Boxengasse auftritt oder so.

There are a few places that catch the splitter on a curb or seam and causes the car to flip. The track has a good flow, but the last corner doesn't work. Its blind with a decreasing radius, in a crowd it causes a lot of wrecks as drivers are guessing where they're going. I think its a good effort. Still needs a few tweaks, but overall has a good layout.

Easy to avoid those black flags on the standing starts. Turn off flag rules. Cautions are for weenies anyway.

Ok thanks. I will fix the curbs problem in future version. Can you maybe tell me, which one exactly causes the car to flip?

About the last corner, i don't know, never had this problem you are talking about. Did you have some crashes there? And do you really think it is caused because the corner is blind and its radius is decreasing? There is a big bump inside the last turn, so maybe this is the problem because drivers are drifting and sliding through it.

Yes, that's a possible solution.
But for sure i will fix starting grid positions in future version. So that a standing start will be possible without turning off flag rules.

When I talked to the other drivers, they said they never had the same line twice, and thats possibly because we're still new on the track, but the line you can take all depends on your entry speed and driving style. The apex seems like a funnel.

I think the inside driver tends to overshoot and has to brake and drift outside, while the outside driver has a higher speed, they can't dodge the sliding inside car. I think maybe if the wall was further back and/or there was a apex marker that would help drivers to navigate the same arc. Then the outside driver would know when the inside driver was going to over shoot and then crossover.

I really only bring it up because its a fictional track and I think that corner could make for some really exciting finishes with a better flow.

Ok, thanks for the detailed information.
Maybe i should add a camber to the last corner, so it would be easier to stay on a fast (and same) line. Apex marker could also be helpful, yes. And you are right, the wall is pretty close to the track.

I think camber or an elevation change so that the apex was visible could work.

in v1.1 the value for wp_galpha (in AIW file) is incorrect!

Open the AIW in a text Editor and search and replace this:
Search
wp_galpha=(0,

Replace
wp_galpha=(0.

Than the groove is working!

In gdb file missing:

RoadDryGrip = 1.00
AIDryGrip = 1.02
RoadWetGrip = 0.75
AIWetGrip = 0.77

Max Vehicles = 58

Qualify Laptime = 79.000
Race Laptime = 80.000
