I've tried the Midget / Sprite MkII and unfortunately they are a good 5 seconds off the pace of the other cars which is a bit too much imo.

However the Healey Sprite Mk I (Frogeye) is pretty competitive, so who wants me to add that one into the mix? (Say before tonight, I don't like making changes the day of the race )

Back from my hols & the new PC is now up & running, but as it is on Windows 7, I need to get hold of the Simbin download to get GTL running. No chance of that before tomorrow so looks like I will be giving this one a miss too. Shame, as it looks like it could be a fun combo

Hopefully cya Wednesday.

Ah yes, that happened to me too (and others), I forgot about that. The author provided a mirror here.

Ok Server's up

Some Notes:

Triumph Spitfire & GT6 for GT Legends
also needs 2 sound packs...
Mini Cooper and Elite Sounds
Jaguar E-type and MKII Sounds

Austin Healey Sprite Mk 1 - The Frog
<<-- this file is corrupt and will not unpack, see below for alternative links)
Beware bad instructions in the readme file!
Quote:
Unpack the RAR folder into the root folder of GTL.
correct instructions are on the download page...
Quote:
Unpack the RAR folder and stick it in your TC-65 folder.
The main download at NoGrip is corrupt(Austin Healey Sprite Mk 1 - The Frog v1_1 by Se7en.rar)
The alternative d/l (v2 Austin Healey Sprite.rar) is good, but that's a bad name to choose (will no doubt cause confusion if/when version 2 is released )

So for the GC file area I have renamed it to..
Austin Healey Sprite Mk 1 - The Frog v1_1 by Se7en V2 download.rar

Anyone done any laps? I've done about 5, but have no idea on respective car strengths/pace. The one that really takes my eye is the Sprite....

Is there a .zip or .rar version of the Marshfield track anywhere? I do not have 7zip installed (after suffering problems with it on my new Windows 7 PC).

EDIT: I have resolved the problem. It seems that the new version of Winzip can handle .7z files

I'm getting 46's in the GT6 and 47's in the Sprite - but that's probably about 3 secs slower than you right?

maybe it's related to the zipper that made it, or our unzipper versions

I tried with the standard WinRar that comes with Win XP & also with 7Zip, both complained

Hopefully then, your unpacker made this file with the correct size...
AH_Sprite_CPIT.gtl 5.74 MB (6,021,010 bytes)

Sorry to hear that Mogget. As for me, tons of fun and thank you guys for another great combo.
And oh, I am afraid my Sprite´s setup isn´t quite balanced yet.

Cheers, Dan

Get it on one wheel, then I'll be impressed

I had a fun race too - got an S/G very early on trying to catch up after my slide at the last turn which put me back in last place - but I had good fun catching up and I almost caught up with Fille in 4th - but I ended up trying too hard and making silly mistakes - great fun though.
Maybe we should have a Sprite only race for WNR - just for fun

Great idea Malc. And we could easily include the Spridgets if we fit the Sprite´s engine.

With hindsight, my decision to pull out of the race when I did was a good one. I had a problem with my neck and upper back later on and overnight, so stopping when I did was probably a blessing in disguise. I really must learn to get up and do something else over the weekend, rather than concentrating on FSX and online racing

Another new car to try in the Sprite, and much fun it was too - although even with the back end stiffened to the max it still felt like the rear suspension was collapsing at every corner as it waved the front inside wheel in the air - maybe that's how they are irl..

One small mistake around half distance and i found a barrier with reversed collision detection - ie it lets you go through it, then won't let you get back on the track. Isn't that the wrong way round? - surely the barriers are there to stop you going off the track? Anyway it meant i had to find another way back on, which effectively meant i had to do half of the lap all over again, which put me a long way behind.

No matter, much fun was had. Congrats John, thanks all.
