I have loads of questions and hate to monopolize the forum, but this is about Mods.
I was wondering what are the must have's, I have a few tracks, and misc mods only so far Also is there a sound mod for all the cars in the game, thats the cars that are with the game and not any addons, as I really would'nt know where to start. I find the sheer amount of mods to be quite overwhelming, but in a good way, nevertheless, I struggle to work my way through them and find what I want, hence only having a handful of them. I'll have to leave it at this for now and give other folk a chance, can't help but feel guilty, that's just me though ![]() Thanks to all for your time and efforts in helping me

well, everyone is going to have his own opinion
depends on what you want power and glory is probably the best old-school mod for the GTL cars a lot of them are about cars you either care about or don't (mods of cars not available in your country for example)(no disrespect intended, I just mean I'm not eager to race a car I've never heard of - with so many other options) don't install willy-nilly - the "smart" thing seems to be to keep one install "clean" (or at least only with the stuff you know you trust and like) and one for testing out mods I think you would do well to ask specific mod differences - such as the various F1 mods or Prototype mods or GTL mods - but people may only have experience with one (I do) (I have and like the French F1 2007 (hard to control and fragile - but fun) and the SCC Prototypes (easier to control and much less fragile)) |

Ok thanks Jax,
My problem I have is that I only have the one install but with mods I like and trust, as you said, so not possible to do a new clean install, well I don't think it is ![]() I'll be sure to come back to this mod question once I can actually compete properly First off I guess I need to try to get my 360 Controller to play nicer as I am not finding it easy and don't understand what the various settings would do, not good at car stuff ![]() I know I am going off topic but (and I don't want to begin a new thread as I already have about 3 going) its the steering I am having great problems with, I use the left thumb stick to steer left and right and yet when going round corners I feel like don't have enough steer (if that makes sense) and therefore not only my lap times suffer, but the AI go past me at ten times the speed of myself, well it seems that way

It is possible to make multiple installs of GTR2. For example I have 4 installs. one for each league I run in and one for mods and general messing around.
It's easy, go to C: then right click on the GTR2 cd icon and select explore from the drop down list. Then select the GTR2 setup exe. and run it. |

Hi PorscheDriver,
Well I bought Grid recently and so love the American Muscle Cars and also Touring Cars, but knowing me I like just about anything, I struggle too much with open wheel, formula 1 isn't that? But mainly the AM and TC ![]() I also like long races, something that put me off Grid slightly, races woefully short, touring cars like 3 or 4 laps, as far as I have played anyway. Endurance racing my personal favourite........and in GTR2 would give me the glorious option of day into night and back again........although I hope my PC can handle it, am yet to try it in Grid though, but people have moaned about it lagging........hope GTR2 does'nt for my system

I need to ask about weather mods as I read that the weather does not change during actual racing? I thought it did as it says so on the box, anyway, what is the best weather mod to use and the easiest has to be simple to use as I don't follow instructions well.......I have currently got the weather loader one, is that the best to have?

hi j&h
can't help you on weather stuff i'm afraid, it's always gloriously sunny when i race ![]() i thought i'd mention some mods you might like, given what you've mentioned... wtcc06 caterham radical sr3 gtl-gtr2 nothing too fast in there, which suits me fine. the f1 and lmp mods are too hot for me ![]() search here on nogrip, or google for them. if you need help, i can link you to them |

yea..about ur clean unistall etc..what i do instead of just unzipping to my gamedata directory..i just unzip to desktop and move everything to the right spot accordingly..now u can just move them over and back up any files the mod overwrites if any or..do what i do and just copy and paste ..so that way when u need to unistall a mod..u can go back and look at the mod zip file for reference to which files to remove from ur directory..so u wont leave any files hanging in ur gamedata folder..and for mods that come in a .EXE format..just make a folder seperate for it and install the mod there..and follow the first few steps for installing/unistalling..just my 2 cents.

I appreciate all the advice I can get, I am such a mucky pup and all my files and folders are a total mess, I am just one of these people that if things are all neat and tidy, I can never find anything!!
![]() And if its in a mess then great, I know where all my files are, daft but true, and a bad habit, I must try harder ![]() Thanks guys
