Unhappy 30 minuets? Not nearly enough

I Just thought well, reading up on Game Stock Car and how good it was supposed to be, thought OK, 30 Minutes trial just to see what it was like

Downloaded the setup .exe and in stalled, started the game and, to cut a long story short (30 minutes short, to be exact) spent 25 minutes setting up controller, display settings and whatever else. (not the games fault I know) Had like, 3 minutes to setup a race...Before the intro (just before a race) had finished...Could not play, time ran out
So I took a chance and payed, sorry, but I really wish I hadn't.
I know lots like it, but for me, I must have missed it all, the game feels very dated, graphics wise, very much like Race07 (whats that now, like 4-5 years old?) I expected a lot more from this, the only thing I did like was the FFB, now that WAS great ...I said "Was" because, I just deleted the whole thing...What a waist of money that was, at least give people enough time to test it...30 minuets? Not nearly enough

Sorry to hear you didn't like it. Just goes to show one man's meat is another's poison.

For me it's the best / most exciting sim on the planet at the moment!

Not really knocking the game, but more on the 30 minutes testing time, IMHO you need at least double that, for setting up, odds and ends stuff, before you can evaluate if you like a game or not, especially a racing Sim, where setting up is so personal/important
Glad your enjoying it, like lots are, it just wasn't for me, if had more time to evaluate, I would not have wasted £20 that's all....Call it Swifty's rant if you like

that's the problem with very short timed demos. I think 24 hours would be better. Most of us take the first hour or so to just get setup so we can give the software an honest chance.

Yea I agree....an hour is a bit of a nonsense. The GSC interface is a bit crap and confusing and took me longer to get to grips with...

Your are missing a great game imo. And graphics isnt everything in a sim.
But it still looks great in my eyes. And the FFB is great like you said.
Also setting the game up, cost me 5 min tops.
Went to controller setting. Clicked the preset of my wheel and went to race.
You dont have to set up everything right the first time.

Maybe I'm getting old, was rather more difficult for me Got lost in the game menu, I don't have a wheel (Logitech RumblePad 2) and before I knew it time had slipped by
I may give it another go, a bit later (few weeks)...It has stuck with me that the FFB was really good, but was really disappointed that it was using at least, five year old graphics But yes, I will give it another shot, even if it's just to feel that FFB again

Cheers...

OK just seen this: http://www.racedepartment.com/2012/0...s-and-updates/

I will reinstall the game tomorrow now(should say today, since it's 04.22 and wait for this pack, but will still give it a fair shot in the mean time. U TURN? Na, not me. "When I say something, I stick to it"

I bought it to test it deeply. It deserved it.
Sure that 30 minutes are short but the more you drive the more pleasure you take.

Have to agree now, sure, I still think the graphics are outdated, but I am enjoying racing this, the FFB is just amazing, best I have ever felt through just a game pad (Logitech RumblePad2)
I have enjoyed making a U turn on this game/Sim....

But I still hold on to that 30 minuets no, no, no, not enough time at all

Out of 10.. Game Stock car = 8
The time to test, 30 mins = 2

Same thing here. Reiza did one fine job, and given the team behind it I simply purchased it. No regrets.

Probably not for everyone, - simcaders find it too hard or are after GT5 level graphics (that's realism for them).

I agree the 30 minutes is silly. It's like Reiza is asking you to go out and find a crack to try the game...

Honestly that's what I suggest anyone who didn't have enough time to try it. Find a crack, try it, and if you like it...buy it.
