Default WorstAdust

Hi everyone,

JUst a quick question,
I've noticed that some tracks don't have QualRatio= or RaceRatio= they only have, Worst/Mid/Best adjust. Now, i know that if i raise these values the cars will lap faster but, what i would like to know is,

What does each individual "Adjust" line represent?
I ask because I want to speed the AI in the race but not change their actual qualifying times.

Many Thanks

It, ummm...says right next to each line what the values represent;

Quote:
WorstAdjust=(0.7500) // Used for 70% AI strength option
MidAdjust=(1.0000) // Used for 100% AI strength option (note that AIs now use full throttle above 95% AI strength option)
BestAdjust=(1.1000) // Used for 120% AI strength option

Sorry I forgot that and the track I was looking at "Silver75" doesn't have the explanation.
However, it still doesn't tell me how to speed up their race times without affecting their qualifying times. Low 1:45's in qualifying which is fantastic, but high 1:46's in the race is toooooO slow...

Thanks

You can add the ratio parameters to tracks that don't have them. My procedure is to initially set the ratios to 1.0 and use the appropriate adjust parameter to get the AI to match my speeds in practice sessions, then use the ratio parameters to get them to match me in qual and race. This gets them doing consistent laps throughout a weekend; no more lightning fast practice times only to crawl around the track in a race.

As for my experience, the adjust-parameters are corner speeds, while the ratio parameters are top speeds. Be careful to change those values in slow steps until they fit your need. One thing I did for all tracks was to narrow the adjust parameters. The gap between "worst" 0.80 (= 80%) to "best" 1.20 (120 %) is too high, because "best" would be 50% faster than "worst" with these settings.

Beware: I once set best adjust to 10.0 instead of 1.0 and had nearly the complete field crash into the first corner at Watkins Glen, because AI indeed tried to go at 1000 % through this corner. It looked funny, but was highly unrealistic of course . Cheers, rainer

I've had good results with...

worst = 0.8
mid =0.95
best = 1.05

...as a starting point and then fiddling with the qualifying/race ratios if needed. This'll usually get me on the grid somewhere in the upper third of the field.
