Default Season 5 information

This thread provides all the information regarding race format, points system and calendar events for season five.

Mod:

http://downloads.gamers-crib.com/Sim...20mod%20V2.rar

Race Calendar:

1) 28th July 2012 - Paul Ricard - http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=15416

2) 4th August 2012 - Sebring Virtua LM - http://rapidshare.com/files/21136707..._GTR2_V100.exe

3) 18th August 2012 - Mid Ohio Virtua LM - https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8346744/MidOhio_Virtua_LM.rar

4) 25th August 2012 - Donington Park Gp - Stock game circuit

5) 15th September 2012 - Brno Gp 2004 - Stock game circuit

6) 29th September 2012 - Long Beach - http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=23283

7) 6th October 2012 - Virginia - http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=16141

8) 20th October 2012 - Spa Gp 2008 - https://dl.dropbox.com/u/8346744/Spa_2008.rar

All dates and tracks subject to review.

POINTS SYSTEM

The points system has been kept the same as it was in season four.

1st 30 pts
2nd 26 pts
3rd 23 pts
4th 20 pts
5th 17 pts
6th 14 pts
7th 12 pts
8th 10 pts
9th 8 pts
10th 6 pts
11th 5 pts
12th 4 pts
13th 3 pts
14th 2 pts
15th 1 pt

Everybody will drop their lowest total points finish, effectively allowing us all to miss one race without too much of a points hit.

To be classified for points you must finish the lap on which 75% of the total race distance takes place.

WEIGHT/SUCCESS BALLAST:

In order to make the events closer success ballast will be given to cars as follows.

1st: +40kg
2nd: +30kg
3rd: +15kg
4th: 0kg
5th: -10kg
6th: -20kg
7th: -30kg
Lower: -30kg

Maximum success ballast to be 120kg. This will be kept under review during the season and may be refined as we progress.

RACE LENGTH, TIME ETC

15 minute quali session commences at 19:30 UK time (currently GMT)

Races commence at 19:45 UK time.

Races will be 45 minutes in length.

Drivers must pick a car prior to the season starting and then keep the same car for all events. This will help avoid the situation in which more experienced drivers or drivers with more time to test gain an advantage by picking the strongest car for each event. You can change car but this will incur a penalty of 35% of the points scored (rounded up to the nearest point) in the event you changed car. Following a car change you must either stay with the new car or incur the penalty again if you switch to any other car for the subsequent events.

All of the above is a work in progress. If anyone has an suggestions or idea's regarding any of the above please post below before we set dates for the season to commence.

How much there is difference on car performance on this mod??

Made my selection based on how the car look's. So zero laps done. Going to miss the first race but try to make as many as possible.

See you guys at track.

Paul Ricard layout?

PR is what all the LMP's use in testing - big straight.

I think the chicane in the GT version is too annoying and detracts from the great circuit with the long straight and fast T1/2

Dunno yet - the best one

I haven't done much testing of the mod in terms of the cars out and out lap speed relative to each other so it will be a guessing game for the first few events.

Updated the first post with the following:

"Drivers must pick a car prior to the season starting and then keep the same car for all events. This will help avoid the situation in which more experienced drivers or drivers with more time to test gain an advantage by picking the strongest car for each event. Only just spotted that you have decided on a mod...

Mod:

I have some concerns about the way this is packaged though...

If you drop the GameData into your GTR2 folder, then the the Music and UIData folders will not be installed correctly!!!

...\NGR Season 5 proto mod\GameData\Music <<<--- Music folder should not go in GameData !!!

No

but if you install the Music in the wrong folder then you won't get the music

and if you install the UIData in the wrong folder then other stuff won't work
(not really sure what they are... some menu options and look of the menus I think?)

Thanks

Everyone please use this link for the mod to make sure we all have the same files in the same format etc.

It is always good to make a clean install of GTR2 first before using any league mod to avoid mismatches and other problems joining the server.

The password is in the pre race chat thread (its season5)

As for adding skins - keep them and we can look at adding them after the first two back to back races when we know everyone has the mod installed and running ok. To add them now could complicate things for some prior to the first race. Sorry

how to connect :

1. Go to your GTR2 directory.
2. Find the following file: LOCAL_IP_LOBBY.TXT
3. Open that file and replace what is in there with gtr2lobby.bier-buden.de - You may want to back up the original txt file or rename it old.
4. Start GTR2
5. Select internet then at the top click register to register a new account
6. After you registered with your new account, you should now be able to join the lobby with your new login.
