Default is there a minimap for tracks

I can't seem to find an option for a minimap and was wondering if there is one or a mod for a minimap.

There is a mod that allows a minimap on the hud, if that's what you mean, so you can see where you are on the track as you drive it.

Check the downloads section, think it's in misc files.
