doo's wild idea #1: NoGrip theme song

I just got this extremely wild idea while I was going through the musicians' thread. Since we probably have players of all kinds of instruments here, perhaps we should make a theme song for NoGrip.

I've done a lot of composing, so here's how I figured it would work.

At first, we need a "kernel" for the song around which we can start building. So, if you have a nice guitar riff that you'd be willing donate for the good cause, record it, upload it somewhere (preferrably in 192 kpbs mp3-format) and post a link to it here. Once we have something we can all agree on, we can start throwing around ideas and working it forward. Finally, I'll gather all the pieces up, mix and master everything up and voilá!

Kongo, you play the guitar, don't you? Anyone else willing to participate? I'll be more than happy to play the drum tracks, but if there's someone better than me, by all means, let me know.

I don't intend this to be anything too serious, just to have a little fun and see how composing a song works out this way. Also, if you're worried about copyrights and you have a problem with the song being freely distributed, this is probably not your cup of tea.

And finally, if you post a riff, try to play it like you were in a studio: free of errors but most importantly, in time! And be sure to tell us which tempo it's in.

P.S. If you can think of something else that should be thought about before we begin, don't hesitate to post.

Is it gonna be kinda 'bluegrass' or what?

I'll be willing to make all the skidding (farting) noises of a car sliding just before someone says "welcome to nogrip"!

Maybe it could play in the background while browsing nogrip? That would be super gay but hey!

Well, I was thinking something a little bit more rock-ish, but hey, if you come up with a good riff, bluegrass is fine with me.

I guess we need to decide on a style and then someone needs to set the ball rolling.

I try and come up with some ideas over the next week.

If its intended to be for the LH fanboys, you could name it "Broken Hearted Affair" or, "Mis-Guided Passion" or "Unfulfilled Dreams!" .......etc.

Pretty cool idea! If i jam something up, is there space for a Alto Sax in there? I alos play Piano, but i couldn't take it with me to my uni
