Post GTR2+GTL in one box, where to buy

Hope this can help possible newcomers not equipped yet with the required "material" to install P&G.

As you know by now, Power&Glory requires two games.

You'll need to install GTR2 (the receiver plaftorm) to receive the P&G mod/expansion.

As for GT-Legends (the donator platform), it's required to be on the DVD drive only once, that is while installing P&G (in GTR2), and that's all.

Both GTR2 and GT-Legends are getting hard to find these days on stores, so it's through online retailers where you'll find both easyer (and cheap!).

There's a special version of interest, the last one released for sale (late 2007) where both GTR2 and GTL are sold in one pack (two separate games on one single box).

The advantage of buying this latest version (with both games in one pack) is that it can be easyer to find and cheaper (or not, depending on seller) than if looking for both games separately at same time, so it definitely is something to look at mostly for those of you without the two game titles (GTR2 and GTL).

GTR2 - GAME OF THE YEAR EDITION

...if you have either GTR2 or GTL already, we obviously recommend getting just the title that you're missing (GTL or GTR2, sold separately) but it might be interesting as a way to get a backup for your original CD/DVD copy (remember, hard to find these games) ...or perhaps as a way to make a friend happy!

Again, it's through online-retailers where you'll find this cheaper and available in bigger numbers.
In most cases they ship worldwide (shipping costs may or not be included depending on seller), and you'll be able to pay with Paypal, Credit-Card and, perhaps, money orders.

Here's some links found by just quickly searching across the internet:

...if you find more places/links of interest, please post it here, as it might interest newcomers having problems finding these simulator games (I'll update this post with that info).

For those looking for separate boxes of GTR2 or GTL, then perhaps it's better to look in the usual places for online products/retailers search, such as Ebay and Amazon, or also by looking at Newegg, VivaMedia, Play.com, etc, you should be able to find available copies of either of these two game titles around.

...happy buying!

Cheers!

DucFreak,

Does GT Legends actually have to be installed? I was under the impression that the P&G2 installer only checks to make sure that you have a genuine GT Legends DVD.

No, you don't have to have GTL installed on the hard-drive at all (so no Starforce either then, this is for those that ever had a problem with it).

As you said, P&G v2 installer only checks to make sure that you have a genuine GT Legends DVD, means that you just have to insert the GTL disk once the P&G installer asks for it (the CD-Check) and, after that, you won't need to use it anymore.

I was lucky enough to find a copy this past Spring at my local EB Games for $19.99 CDN. Also found GTR Evolution (right next to it) for the same price.

If you live near me in San Diego I got my copy of GOTY GTR2 at Fry's Electronics for 20 bucks back in January of 08. I imagine they might still have a copy or two there.

I wanted to have this mod, but I am shocked and bad suprised when I read that this mod requires GTL dvd in my computer! I don't understand why I must buy GTL dvd when I play only GTR2 GAME! Are modders P&G so stupid? I don't undrestand it. It's funny shit... There is great gtl-gtr2 mod which don't required GTL on my pc! I don't understand why people play this problemly p&g mod...

Same here really. Both games are more than a year old, so there's no need to annoy people with this whole DVD check thing.
I'm not planning on swapping DVDs every time I want to play a different game. As a result, I'll stick with GTL-GTR2 untill this ridiculous check gets removed.

First of all, when P&G was first released there were still conversion rules that required people to own GTL in order to be able to play P&G. This is not stupidity, this is loyalty to the makers of sim racing games. If we would all just rip and copy, sim racing would be dead very quickly.

Secondly, P&G is different than GTL, so GTL-GTR2 is not the same

And really, is it THAT much of an impossible mind-numbingly depressing problem to put a DVD in your PC when you want to play a great game?

Thanks for the reply Redi. Didn't know P&G was THAT old. Still, there's no valid reason to keep the DVD check. It's not like Simbin still sells GTL, so it won't affect their sales figures.

But yes, it actually is that much of a problem. If you play multiple games and each one requires a DVD, you'll be swapping DVDs quite often.

The whole DVD thing is so 1980's anyway.
We don't want to get up, open the drawer/closet, look for the right box, open it, drop the DVD, open the tray, put the DVD in the tray, close it and then start the game. We want to double-click an icon and start the game immediately.
