I just converted some prototype C cars "for private use" to GTR2, and drivers are too low in the cars and steering wheel is moving one side to another how can I reposition them?

Each .car file has the following line:
FirstPersonDriverPosition=(0.320, -0.43, 0.05) the 3 digits represent the XZY axis For your steering wheel you need to set its rotation axis to correct. |

Just how Goresh explained. Open .car file with notepad, look for the line
FirstPersonDriverPosition=(0.320, -0.43, 0.05) and start adjusting the numbers. the first number (0.320) is the number that will move the driver left/right. The second number (-0.43) will change the drive up/down and the last number (0.05) will change the driver front/back. |

The Chinese proverb is something like 'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.'
Still, you could be nicer with Goresh, he was just trying to help... ![]() |

Is there a special way to put steering wheel axis in the car file? I got this when I put pointer exact center of the Porsche GT3 RS steering wheel XYZ 0.3426 -0.2334 0.3443. In the car file it has this SteeringWheelAxis=(0.0,0.174,0.985).

The lines you see in the car file don't relate to the actually rotation axis but rather sine and cosine of the wheels angle. This line is there to deal with steering wheels that are positioned on an angle.
The second value is the sine of the angle and the third value is the cosine of the angle. |

That refers to which animation file is used for the drivers arms.

It also determines the radius of the wheel. Get the wrong time and you'll see 'Stiggie' waving the air... |

I also have a mod for private use I am working on that is a conversion from rFactor. How would you put the driver in the car when he is not there presently. I've read the posts put when I put the data in there are still no arms in the cockpit. Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I am also trying to reposition the steering wheel and get motec to show up on the wheel. Does anybody have any info to share on how to do this? |
