Default rFactor Multiplayer Lists...please decipher

Hi,

Am I alone in finding the rfactor multiplayer join list incredibly difficult to follow? There are SO many mods and added tracks out there it is very difficult to understand exactly what car and track (version number) you need. Everything appears in shortened form, and it seems we are expected to know instantly what for example MM231HHjdgs (or whatever) means!

Would a kind person please list the addon and default car groups acronyms or initialised forms then explain what they all mean. Thank you so much!

Second question: GTL automatically finds the right car to suit the race in question when you join a listed race. I assume this is not so in rFactor and you have to find the precise model and upgrade type in order to join. Is this correct?

Well, welcome to rfactor. I don't run pick up races because of this. I stick to leagues. If you look at the track or series column it gives you some insight, but only to the current track/car. If next round is different, sorry.

To your second question. Rfactor will find suitable car if you have the mod installed. Most of the mods are to be found on rfactorcentral.com.

I found this a good resource for the track deciphering problem, it shows how the track name will appear in the lobby and to which track it relates;

Wow...that's one hell of a list. 870 tracks and combinations. Thanks for this and other replies. Good to know rFactor loads cars automatically. I've lurked for a long time, just driving offline. Now to join some leagues. Thanks again.

Wow, that is a good list. There are a few items where it's not up-to-date, but it's the best list I've seen! Just wish it had version numbers (or dates) listed, too.

If you don't have the car or track when you try to join, you'll get the last car/track you were using and then be bounced. If you're only missing the car, then nice admins let you join the track so you have a chance to chat to find out what you're missing <ahem, that's a hint for admins>.

Some helpful abbreviations:

VLM = Virtua LeMans
MMG = Mac Modders Group
TPSCC = The Pits Stock Car Challenge
TPTCC = The Pits Touring Car Challenge
NAGT = North American GT (made by the Pits)
ORR = Off Road Racing
RaceX = conversion of Race 2007 & newer Simbin property
HGTTC = Historic GT & Touring Cars (aka Historix), conversion of GT Legends

Overall, though, if you're trying to find something, check on rFactor Central and then, if it's not found, Google the term or ask around.
