no, just got it from the gtl section
convert it same as the others
or there is a tool to do it automatically
probably also listed in the downloads

Well, if there is a tool, I must not be using it right.

Thanks, but I have already tried that several times and I can't seem to get that to work right. It doesn't sem to find the track to convert it over to Gtr2. Maybe if you explained how to use it better, I might be able to use it.

have you set the paths to the games?
there's a "set paths" button
it can't find anything without that
results will be in the ini file
also read the readme for what it can't do

Like I said before, if someone could explain exactually how to do it, that would be helpful as I have tried to set the paths and I seem to be doing something wrong. just throwing hints or suggestions doesn't help.

you are probably better off just converting them manually - just change all instances of gtl to gtr in file extensions and the trk file - you don't need the tool (and the tool doesn't work for some files anyway)

since you don't have gtl - you will have to pretend you do to the tool - the file structure of gtr is the same as gtl - just duplicate it for the locations folder so you can set the path to it - should work fine - it doesn't need the game, it just needs to know where the locations folder is

Thanks. Let's pretend I don't know what you are talking about here as I have changed the masfiles in the track files to gtr and I get CTD. The converter doesn't work for me for Sears Point. I see that there are other files that say gtl. We have about 9 posts here and not any closer to a solution as you know what to do and it's obvious I don't.

For Infineon (Sears Point) to work it is simple. You don't have to change any file ext. In the Infineon.trk file do a simple edit in notepad. Make it look like this:

MASFile=skies_central.gtr
MASFile=Infineon1.gtl
MASFile=Infineon2.gtl
MASFile=InfineonTex.gtl

You only change one letter lol

Hope this helps.

Nope, even did a copy and paste of your files into the trk file. Is this track file supposed to be labeled Sears Point or Infineon?

All I get is a CTD with this, very frustrating.

Download the Sears Point GTL Track from here.
http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=1160
Unzip that track anywhere, use the track converter, click on the box convert a GTL track into a GTR2 track, browse to the folder where you unzipped the GTL track. Make sure you click on the track folder. Hit the convert button and all should work. If it does'nt work for you I think that you must be doing something wrong. The track name will be Infineon.

Nope, it doesn't work. I put it in my documents, clicked on it and it looks for the GTL source, says I am missing files. I give up on it.

I'm pretty sure you can't unzip or extract the track file anywhere. This is what I did: Create a "GTL" folder, inside of it create a "gamedata" folder, inside of that create a "locations" folder and put the track file which you downloaded inside of "locations". Now try to use the converter. I think that is the pattern that the converter uses when searching for a GTL track file. So whenever you download a GTL track, always save them there. This way sort of tricks the converter program to thinking you have GTL. Worked for me, tell me if it works for you.

Nope. I put a file like you said in my documents GTL=gamedata=locations=infineon and all I get is missing files aborting. Not sure what the problem is. Tell me what I am supposed to click on with the converter as maybe that is the problem.

It wont work if it has multiple courses. I think one at a time will work.

Doesn't seem to work that way either. Have you tried to convert it yet?

yeah, I just put those 2 files that were inside "road atlanta" but outside of the seperate courses and added them in the long course, renamed the long course to road atlanta and converted that way. It's only one course instead of three but I'm sure all three can be done. Send me a personal message if this doesn't work.

Yea, I got it. Turns out it's not the track I was looking for. I remember a F1 track or Nr2003 track that is in the US that has a long downhill, 90 degree right hand turn and goes under a bridge. Can't remember it.

Does anyone know of a later version of Sears Point / Infineon? I tried the version from the link in this thread but it is pretty old, before they tore down the hills and it doesn't include the carousel.
