Maserati ... hmmm that's Italian, ain't it? ... Okay, okay. Here's the step by step example.
First of all you need to make a custom driver file. The default formatting of the name of this file is lastname.rcd. So if I were to have Mr. Dan Gurney to be my
driver (which would obviously honor me very much
), his driver file would be called gurney.rcd.
It would start with the bit below, and the rest of the file can be left alone:
Once finished, save it and place this file into your own car folder.
Now we need to tell GTR2 which driver will be driving the car. This is done in the .car file. So, if we would like Mr. Gurney to drive the number 33 AF Corse Maserati we open the 04033_GT_MC12.car file and edit the bold part:
This way GTR2 'knows' Mr. Gurney is going to drive the Maserati (and probably won't believe it's ears, but that's another story LOL).
Next we need to explain GTR2 exactly what Mr. Gurney will wear
... Yes yes, I know you're still listening.
There are three 'magic' files we now first need to paint, save and then give the correct location. Again those three go into your car folder and the naming should be:
Easy, huh? We could have come with something like that ourselves, couldn't we?
In the rar file I've attached you'll find all the files you need to understand what I did: the .rcd file, the example .car file and the .dds files.
I hope you'll be able to do what you like now maestro, have fun painting! Should anything come up, just let me know what and we'll figure it out.
