Nurburgring online tonight, Wednesday, July 23rd

In case anyone missed it, Roger released the much awaited Nürburgring race track yesterday (downloadable from this site). Tonight we plan on racing that track online at Gamespy. Usually, people start poping in at around 9 PM GMT.

I love online racing but as I am so new at this I had better wait for a week or so until I can control the car better. I am having fun learning though.

I see you made in online last night, I was dissappointed I couldn't race with you guys, it was the first time I have had that problem, hopefully it was because there were so many in the pit.....hehe yea 5 is alot for GameSpy.

I don't know what the online limitations are on Gamespy or even with Rally Trophy. I do know that the Server I had up can handle 20 full 3D Cars in GPL, 10 - 12 in F1C so I feel confident it was not a Server problem. I did not see anyone there with a Ping higher than 160. We can try again this evening around the same time. Bobo88 has an excellent Server as well and we will probably be testing his this evening.

I have been pinging the Gamespy server and the response time averages 54ms. This should be fine unless they are throttling bandwidth. Further testing will tell.

Thx Gary, I don't think it has anything to do with you hosting, for some reason RT has more issues on GameSpy than other games do, if Relay was up we could probably run 5 with no problem. I hope to catch you guys again!

I am not so sure if we should have called it Racing but we did manage to Mow the Grass and knock down a few Trees

Bob and I plan on trying again this evening around 21:00 EDT. Kind of late for anyone overseas though

Bob and I should be there tonight around 08:30. Bob had to rescue a friend last night who stopped one of Microsoft's updates in the middle of the process and blew up his OS. Bob spent the evening repairing his system hence no racing

The race was hosted by Bobo88 ( Bob Oster, my son in law) We were having trouble with the Ring online. Also we prefer not to race in Ghost Mode. Seeing the other cars makes it more interesting.
What time are the Wednesday Races GMT as the differences with Summer time, Daylight savings time etc. make it difficult for me to tell. GMT is always the same and I am used to working with that from my Hosting for European GPL leagues.
