Default VW Beetle Rally by Florenzo

VW 1303 S Porsche Salzburg

Volkswagen Germany never drove with the beetle in Rallys. But Volkswagen Porsche Austria, located in Salzburg, used the beetle very successful in Rallys. First with the 1302 and 1973 with the 1303 S. The rallybug had the 1600ccm engine from the original 1303 but very good tuned. The car have 126bhp and a five speed gearbox from the porsche 914. The car i made won the Rally Elba driven by Achim Warmbold.

Well done, but I have noticed some tire "show-thru" while viewing Nurburgring replay. Don't know for certain if that is due to car model or track...

Transmission front ? in a beetle? I owned 3 vw beetle and never saw one with a front transmission.

I drove the car and it doesnt handle like a front transmission car , so i guess there is a bug in the file.

I guess i didnt make myselfe clear, sorry.

When you go to the game menu with the VW loaded the technical file of the car says Transmission: Front.

It beffudled me because I know the VW has a rear engine and a rear wheel drive.

I drove the car and it behaves like a rear wheel drive, like the Volvo or the Alpine.

Thats all I meant, the car however its absolutely fantastic and very detailed.

BTW, Florenzo, since you already done a VW did you take a look on another very popular rally car of the 60s, I mean the NSU 1200 TT ?

Its an all rear also and should be easy to adapt the vw to that, although the NSU would be slower.

I will post some pics as soon as I found one.

I have found some very good sites with the NSU 1200 TT and with some very detailed pictures and specifications.

The most popular paint was orange with a mate black hud.

Here they are :

Making the model and texture is the most difficult part which takes many hours, and this has no similarity to VW at all. One of these years when I finally finish the Hillman Imp, that would be a good base for the NSU TT.

I have saved the links that you posted, but do not expect to see this from me soon, as I am very busy. If you want to use Zmodeller to adapt my Imp beta, you may.

Because cars take many, many hours, it is always better to make yourself, than to request of other people. We need more carmakers.

@Mudsnow: you are going to laugh alot, but I confess with deep shame that I dont know what Zmodeller is  I would love to try to make cars myselfe, since I do skins for my planes in IL2, but I dont know how

When I said that the VW and the NSU were similar I meant the handling , sorry about that. The NSU was also air cooled like the VW.

If you can instruct this deeply embaressed newbie how to make a car I would be very happy to learn.

The handling is controlled only by a text file and an experienced car maker can make this in only a few minutes. It is the other things which take weeks to make, which are not at all similar to VW.

We are all newbies once.

This is what you need:

Zmodeller 1.07

Zmodeller Tutorial
http://zmodeler2.com/?mode=dl&ID=4

Rally Trophy plugin for Zmodeller
http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=141

Imp

The BMW 2002 is also a little similar in shape.

Digging this one back up folks, as I love VW's- any chance of a RealMod conversion for this beast? I wanna use it in offline races! Oh, and I'm pretty sure the car is RWD in-game, because I've done plenty of power-on 360's with it already...

Nice car. If I ever get a Beetle of my own, it's getting painted just like that.

My Scirocco on the other hand....

There shalt be no editing of cars by this maker, except with threat of death, or at least verbal bludgeoning.

If thou doest edit the physics, the skins, or any other aspect of any car by this maker, thou shalt not speak of it, or post any screenshots, except with threat of death, or at least verbal bludgeoning.

And thou shalt not use the name of this maker in vain, except with threat of death, or at least verbal bludgeoning.

James, if Florenzo does not want people messing with his work we should all respect that. Same with any other car makers, they put a huge amount of time and skill into their outputs. Some take a more tolerant view than others about modding, that is their choice. If we want to keep getting new cars we all have to respect the way some people want to have their work treated.

Default Great Work Florenzo

Hi florenzo
J have seen racing your wonderful vw 1302s in 1973
in Elba Rally. J was there
J remember Achim Warmbold was great to defeat more powerful cars.
Your model is perfect, sound too
is missing only the "glorious" plate of Rally Elba red and blu situated
on bonnet

Hallo Florenzo, I just found the RT because of your Porsche-Salzburg-Beetle. I love it, RT with the 1303S is my favorite work on the PC now! Regards, DIAG
