Angry My 46 lap race....

Seeing as how all these people are trying the longer races, I decided to try one myself. I know 46 laps isn't long, but racing on a chair from a dining table isn't easy. If I was to drive a longer race, I wanted at least to drive a comfortable car on a comfortable track. So, I chose the Lamborghini on Donington Park. Qualified with a time of 1.04 and I thought it wasn't bad. Well it was, and I was down to 18th on the start. Rolling start, and I pushed my way up ahead to 14th in the first corner. I was pushing the car a lot, but I knew the track well, and was getting constant 1.04s.Up to 3rd. I needed to pit because the fuel went maximum to 45 so I split that time and went in 26th lap. Changed tires, refueling, everything OK. And, the trouble began.... Just as I was exiting the pits, an idiot with a Saleen pushes me off the track in T1. I didn't damage the car and continued. Just a 1 lap after I was closing down on the guys infront of me. Now I noticed an idiotic thing about GTR2's AI. The guy infront wanted to pass the guy infront of him. He blocked and as I was just about to outbrake him, he turns to his line back. Whack, and the splitter is gone, aero damage, hell of understeer. Limping back to the pits. Exited in 21th position. Again pushing, moved to 19th, but with a lot of pushing. Moved to 15th, and just after T1, entering the downhill chicanes
the guy in P16, gets it all wrong and uses ME as a wall to keep him on the track. Kinda reminded me of Gran Turismo 4... No damage on the car, and finished in P16, with a full grid of GTs and 23 cars total.

Look at the car and you'll see how pissed of I was...

PS The time I lost my splitter I couldn't drive the car so I went into the pits for a 2nd time

What mode/Difficulty and aggression level was you running? I run clean and notice 105 or so as better than 95 at angry. I also run Novice still. I notice the guys/AIs don't seem to be as rough at these levels...! I have raced Angry and sometimes OK... sometimes not.

46 is a good distance for me...!

I just completed a 16 lap race at Philip Island, on Sim with tyres x2 and fuel x4 and AI set to 110% and Angry, and I have to say it was actually easier racing with them at that difficulty because they were alot cleaner and didn't rear end me at all, which always happens at 100% and Real.

I was in 3rd when I pitted but finished 7th cause there was a car trying to get into the pit bay in front of me but it was already occupied, so he was ramming the car that was already there. I had to hit the ignition 6 times before I could leave, every time I tried to accelerate and leave the pit bay, my car would cut out, I'm guessing because the Viper that was ramming the other car was blocking me in, so that cost me about 15 secs. I theoretically had enough fuel for 18 laps, but I ran out of fuel exiting the final turn on the last lap, but luckily I had just enough momentum to coast over the line and retain 7th. I thought that was pretty funny.

1.04 with a lambo in Donington Park??? wow, i think u are wrong.... i think 1:24 is more reasonable that 1:04 no?????

Yesterday i play a 24h race in A1-RING (40 LAPS IN TOTAL)....and in lap 37, i was racing in first place (after two stops for pitting) with the second place at 8-10 sec. of diference and suddenly my engine blow up.....grrrrrrrrr 37 of 40 laps completed and the engine blows.....grrrrr

i have an older pc so i never can play 24h races with the standard tracks ...but the other day i dl A1-RING and voila 70 FPS in this tracks wow, so i´m beggining with the endurance races.....wow is awsome this game!!!!

well at our club we have a 90 minute race every week, one week ngt next week gt, settings 2x tyres and fuel with mechanical damage on time scaled we even use the weight penalty system (so the fast guys from the previous weeks get some handicap) and i must say i now really prefer the longer races where you have to plan pitstops and take care of your engine to stop it going bang, it makes it all a lot more interesting.

used to think the same but it is very simple to do but you have to create a car pack for club race nights, the downside is that you can not run them on open race nights.
