Is it possible to include AI cars in a LAN race??
I had a mate over to my place on the weekend to have a network game and we could not figure out how to get AI cars on the grid with us, so we just raced each other..... Any ideas if this can be done in either GTR2 or GT Legends. Cheers Steve |

No AI in LAN/multiplayer is the only letdown to me for GTR2/GTL  A race game that prides itself with such a large AI starting grid in singleplayer, only to leave the AI out of LAN/multiplayer?
You can check out the RSC thread http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=283415 ,but... Sadly, most modern games don't care about LAN with AI. It would be great if someone with the knowledge would look into this for all our benifits. Hey, I must agree the AI will never match the actions of a human race online, but there is a large percent of people who can't race online or choose not to. And not having AI to race against at LAN parties sure gets boring fast. If someone can make a LAN/multiplayer mod with AI a reality... I know there would be many happy LAN parties to follow. Cheers |

![]() RACE has the option of AI in multiplayer, so perhaps it will be a feature of GTR3. |

What I meant by "the AI never matching the actions of humans" is that the AI aren't as agressive as humans and more importantly the AI seems too predictable. Once you learn the AI's weakness on any given track, you can exploit that... It would be interesting if the AI would make the same mistakes that humans make while under pressure. Or if you kept trading paint with a certain AI driver ,you could actually anger the AI and that car would start bumping you back. Not to the point of wrecking you out of the game... Just enough so it might make you think twice before being overly agressive toward the AI. These are just a few ideas on my AI wish list of improvements. As for RACE... I would like to know how many AI cars are supported in a LAN/multiplayer game...I could not find this information anywhere online. I would consider buying RACE for this option, if someone would please list these details. Thanks |

Hi Disco_Inferno... I answered your mail about that... but I would like to add that there is much more satisfaction overtaking a real human being than AI but I'm not an online player because I do not have enough time to dedicate to simracing to waste it with little boys...
There has been attempts to simulate racing stress in AI and force them to make errors but I have not been convinced by them... (SCAR for example). |

Would be good to have AI in multiplayer, even online it's difficult to get a full grid (I'm talking 30-40 cars) & getting together that many people for LAN is nearly impossible.
