1968 - Clockwise

1990's - Anti Clockwise

When the circuit was rebuilt in the early 1990s as part of a housing development, the Crowthorne bend, Barbeque and Jukskei sweep corners were either eliminated or heavily modified, with the result that the circuit became a narrow, twisty ribbon rather than one of the fastest circuits on the calendar.

Typical F1
Butcher a real circuit
and abandon it 2 years later

Thank you very much, DD. :p
Your Kyalami is awesome, just beautiful.
I just regret not being able to use 6th gear in a 996RSR (stock setup) as the track is twisty and lacking straights, but this has nothing to do with your fantastic work.
Your Kyalami is one of the bast looking and enjoyable tracks around (including GTR2 originals).
Thank you, again.
Cheers,
ZeZeZoom

Woohoo. Thanx DD. Great to drive on home soil. Now some1 just has to make a Bridgstone Production Car mod or Wesbank V8's mod.

Thanks again.

Keep well.

no problem guys. But Toads did most of the work for this track. i just converted it and optimised it for GTR 2 use. Most credit should go to him.

Fantastic job but I see no working start lights in any position on the grids, the lights on the right of the grid do not light up for the Kyalami by lights layout. The lights work fine in the day version.. was something missed in the lights layout?

You may want to update that as a known issue dutchdevil. And is there any chance this is going to be fixed? I'd love to include it in our league rather than replace it with another track.

Default Circuit direction

Greetings. Allow me to clear up the clockwise/anti-clockwise question.

The fairly short straight directly behind the pits is where the new circuit joins the old; the first 'common' corner is the old Sunset followed by Clubhouse and then the Esses; at the top of the hill, the old circuit turned right (Leeukop) and you entered the main straight (hence the clockwise direction), whereas the new circuit ducks left at the top of the hill and takes you down the 'mine shaft' (now anti-clockwise). Leeukop, the main straight, Crowthorne, Barbeque and Jukskei have all been swallowed up by the said development. Hope this makes sense.

DutchDevil, you have done a magnificent job on this circuit! A thousand thanks to you

Default great work - one problem

Excellent work. I live in SA and know this circuit well and it is beautifully recreated. There is a problem: in time trails the car starts facing the wrong way, driving into the wall as it tries to turn around before the driver control comes on. Nontheless, a little masterpeice.

Hi Guys,

The real Kyalami circuit has been revised recently (for the World Superbikes) - the chicane has been replaced with a right hand sweep. Any chance of an updated version?

Thanks for this great track..
As nabdool asks above, an update including the new sweep would be cool.. The chicane kinda spoils what it a great fast flowing circuit.. I live in SA and would love an updated version.

Dutch Devil, if you do update the chicane area, please don't replace this track as it would not be authentic for F1 1989
