This version is just a very early test version and has been out for several weeks already. The link was already posted several weeks ago.
It still contains a lot of errors A 0.3 version with much better aiw file(AI drivers) and working horizon will be out in a few days if all goes well. |

Well it's still mostly a 'test environment' for me to learn track building and working with all the tools, but like i mentioned above, expect a 0.3 version with better ai drivers, working horizon, etc in a few days (it is being tried out by some people with a more powerful pc than my athlon 2200, a 5 year old rig)
Mainly, i am hoping for Mikec87 on Rsc to come out with his completely new one for rfactor some time in the future. His new version is 100 times better than anything i can ever make from the old one ( originates from a free game called racer a long time ago). technically, the old one contains a lot of broken vertices, and contains only 2 "models", the track part and the grass part. Newer tracks are built in a completely different way. Plus retexturing it with current programs like zmodeler is pretty much impossible to get it right. |

There isn't that much more that can be improved on this old rfactor conversion i am afraid. The 3d model of the track and grass are too old (ie built in a different way then in recent games like gtr) to really make much improvement.
I have been in contact with mikec87 at rsc, he is making a new version from scratch for rfactor. Hopefully i can use his version some day, but i havent heard from him the last 2 weeks. my car modeling skills are very limited so i will not be making a car. |

I just can't find my way around the track! Where are the white lines all over the track?? There are only parts of those lines scattered around the track.
Should i go left or right from the "pits"? I'm always getting the message from the pits telling me i'm going the wrong way around. I've tried going all directions. What should i do?? Could anyone help me please?Thanx already!

Version 0.5 is ready, with working headlights on road surface etc and reflection maps for driving in the rain.
http://www.slashdevnull.info/gtr2/ the track should be just a tad bit 'rougher' and less grippy now, if i did the settings right. all comment is welcome |

We have WTCC BMW's, Alfas and Seats in GTR2... can't see why the Chev Lancetti can't be toned down and added as the "resonably priced" car.

Hmm, I don't see a problem there. Could someone send me the Chevy folder from Race?:p
No, only kidding, as that would be against copyright I think... |

A daewoo nubira for racer exists (the original track also comes from racer)
http://forum.racesimcentral.com/showthread.php?t=96696 maybe someone with car making knowledge can contact the author and ask for the original 3d meshes. (the racer model cannot be converted as far as i know) |

Can someone please convert the rFactor Top Gear Test Track:
http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail...20Test%20Track. It is a big improvement on the current track. Also if anyone is wanting to make new physics for Lacetti as I am making a reasonably priced car skin. |

it would be possible to turn the lacetti wtcc car into the reasonable priced car. it would need a lot of work on the physics and the wing removed, but it's do able...
edit I can possible do the physics but I can't make it look right |

I tested the 0.5 beta version a little and I have to point out that it's a little bit too easy.
I drove three laps and I beat Stig's lap record by over five seconds...

I believe the track is actually too short, the enzo from rmi laps it in 1:09 thats 10 seconds better than it should be (a little maybe the car but I doubt more than 2 or 3 thenths)

The size of the track and dimensions are pretty exact, i overlayed an image of the real airfield i took from google earth and it comes out almost perfectly.
The main reason why this track is considerably faster than the real thing is because it is dead flat, while the real one isn't at all. Plus there's a ditch around the whole real track which isn't ingame. And there is too much grip (the dunsfold airfield tarmac is not as good as the tarmac used in isi engine tracks). Another possible reason is the vehicle itself, the data used ingame might end up being a little easier to drive than the real counterpart. I also read a few times that on all tracks the ingame times are a bit faster than the "real life" times. When MikeC87's new top gear track for rfactor is ready, the times should get a lot closer to the real times. (his version will have elevations, ditch, etc) |

I did about 20 laps altogether in the Maserati MCII and lapped easy 1:06's with a few simple setup adjustments. The track's fun to drive alright, but still I think I'll pick a number and enter the queue where they're dealing out the rFactor version.

If you'd like to follow the progress on the new rfactor version check here
http://forum.rscnet.org/showthread.php?t=290158&page=2 and here http://www.rfactorcentral.com/detail...20Test%20Track (once the 1.0 version is ready it will be available here) I have been in contact with MikeC87 before (some parts of the current 0.5 gtr2 version like the white lines on the road are already converted from his new work), So once it is ready, i don't think there he will object to a complete conversion so i can finally remove that ugly 0.5 beta from my website. Like i said before, i only made this gtr2 one as my very first "mod project" ever after i read a long thread on rsc of people asking for it. It's not meant for graphics, just for testing @rduff, no need for any apologies mate, but thanks

once morning wood said he would do them I desided to leave it to a professional as he will do a much better resonable priced car (and mine was to fast and too slow to be accurate)
that said I will give it another go but I'm not promising you'll ever see it released. |
