Post Race Setup

Of course a good race setup is important for driving at a
acceptable pace on the track, but how sensitive are you
when your setup is not giving you what you want in an entered race?

For example: Christian Albers is a good race driver but when his car
doesn't give him the feedback he wants he's eager to give up...

I sometimes take the conservative approach, especially if it's poor tyre selection (ie. soft slicks on a Saleen for a 15 lap race at Spa, bad idea), but usually I'll keep pushing, sometime too far.

I keep going, even if I'm lapped... pure pride I must admit, LOL!

Yes, don't give up, I was in a race 30 minutes ago. Monza 24 people started, I started 20th, I ended up 6th out of .........six, everyone else quit. Stick around and swallow your pride. even us at the back need someone to race against.

Yeah I hate it when everyone leaves, usually cause they had 1 spin and lost a few spots and had to have a sook.

LOL, been there, done that. I did a 16-lap race at Donington with soft slicks on a Saleen. It got pretty bad in the last 2 laps, but I was far enough ahead I won anyway. But on the cool-down lap I spun out 3 times.

It was a "learning experience."

Yeah it chews the tyres a bit.

I got hit @ the start ( usually ) then I work hard to get and sometimes even to the podium. And when I finished the race I see that everyone behind me has left, thus leaving me in "last" 3rd orn 4th place

That's pretty sad Lowndes, I usually get knocked out on the first corner, I'm usually great at starts, getting a huge jump but some people can't take a corner, I follow the race line but end up being destroyed, then I continue frustrated leading to a bad drive or sometimes I change my driving style and becoming agressive constantly setting fast times, with no mercy with the brakes or the car.

Exactly that. I also get a jump on start but carnage @ T1 always awaits:cry:

Ha - young Andretti seems to have the same problem in IRL with giving up, though perhaps on an oval it's simply to dangerous to try and push :dunno:

To answer, I keep racing.
