Default Ford Focus RS WRC 2003 by RTS013

The 2003 version of the Ford Focus WRC as driven by Markko Märtin in World Championship.

If you are on a modem connection, I apologies for the large download but I wanted this car to be something extra...

Thank you all for your nice comments!

But as allways I forget some small detail... If you use bumper view when driving you will find a problem. You can however fix it yourself...

Export car.ini to a folder. Open it and search for "bumperloc". On that line there are 3 values, a # and 3 other values. Replace the first 3 with the later ones and you will be happy again...

Sorry for the trouble this might have caused, it will of course be fixed for the next release. The new view will still be an option for those who like it better, though.

yea the bumper view was the first thing that I had to change . By the way that onboard view is pretty interesting, the one where the camera sits between the driver and codriver

Ohh one more thing RTS013, I realized that you made rims in 3D, so if you change the texture now it wont be like in other ones. I just wanted to ask if you could upload those tarmac rims . Thank you RTS013

(Sorry for the triple post )

There will be a full package of alternative stuff for the version 1.0. The rims (5 spoke tarmac, 16 spoke tarmac, 18 spoke snow and the 18 spoke gravel that is on the car now) probably I will also make the BP paintsheme for the car (Duval) and different patterns for the different types of wheels... As you can imagine it will be a large download and also quite some work to get it all done.

I guess it will take a few weeks for this to happen, though. I won't be home much from now untill christmas.

Great car!! Unfortunately the sun shield on the windscreen is so dark, that when driving cockpit view the field of view is basically reduced to a pretty narrow strap only. Is there some global parameter I could modify to get it more transparent? Or would this require recreating textures with different alfas?
Thx

First, thanks again... You can't imagine how happy I am when reading your posts!

The sun shield should actually be completely black, not transparent at all. That's the way it is in the real car, but that looked a bit weird in the game, I think, so I made it a bit transparent. I agree it is a little bit too big, though, so the field of view is slightly narrower than it should be, but take a look at the real car and you will see it's not that much. Also, the driver sits very low so it is difficult to get a completely clean view of the road.

I am having a problem getting this car to work. When I click on continue after selecting it, the game freezes and I have to reboot. The other standard cars that came with the sim work okay.Perhaps I should try downloading the file again.Any help would be much appreciated as I am out of ideas.
Thanks

Yey, it takes a long time to load. I don't really know how to fix it as during developement it has sometimes been really fast to load and at the next little update it's been slow again and so on... Hopefully it will be OK with the next version.

RTS013, thanks. I'm impressed. Such a great model and I like physics too. You must have spent many hours modelling. I have done some 3d modelling by myself too so I know it's not easy to model such a detailed car as this one is. I respect the work you've done. I really enjoy driving with this car. It's even much better than previous 4wd cars. Because I'm kind of WRC freak this car is my favourite in Rally Trophy One more time: Thanks!

Oh, and by the way, I took some nice screenshots:

Default Wow!!! What a great car. This is what CMR3 SHOULD be.

Great car, great physics, great handling, very predictable.

I'm using Ken's physics and GTM set to 1.0. Fabulous.

This puts CMR3 to shame. This is what Codemasters could and should have produced.

Thanks a lot!

The physics for all my WRCars are in developement and almost finished... much better now...

But for the focus I also want to solve the rpm-meter thing in the interior view befor releasing an update. I made some discoveries a while ago that gave me some ideas how to do it, but I havn't had time to try it yet. I'm also very busy trying to finish off the ascona. So the answer is I don't know... sorry
